🤝 World Trade Organization (WTO) Ministerial Conferences

1. Doha Conference (2001)

   • The Doha Declaration was adopted at the 4th WTO Ministerial Conference in Doha, Qatar in 2001, marking the beginning of the Doha Development Round.

2. Cancun Conference (2003)
   → A continuation of the Doha Round but failed due to disagreements between developed and developing nations.

3. Hong Kong Conference (2005)
   → Some progress was made, particularly in phasing out agricultural export subsidies.

4. Geneva Conference (2009)
   → Continued negotiations but with little substantive progress.

5. Bali Conference (2013)

   • The Bali Package was agreed upon during the 9th WTO Ministerial Conference held in Bali, Indonesia in 2013.

   • It aimed to streamline trade, especially for developing countries.

   • Notable for the successful conclusion of the Trade Facilitation Agreement.
